The next steps are to ascertain who is interested in volunteering for future deployments of the water filtration unit. Please distribute the attached signup sheet which can be returned to pandyaken@gmail.com and svankamamidi@sathyasai.us. This is a wonderful opportunity for YA’s and older adults to prepare to be able to meaningfully serve our communities. Please do communicate to center members regarding this opportunity and need for volunteers in any of the following areas:
Investigator/Researcher:
those who can identify communities and organizations that need help with obtaining pure water (with need for at least a month or longer)
those who can approach a community affected by natural disaster to identify water needs (usually done 2-3 weeks after the disaster)
Transport: those with a pickup truck who are able to transport the unit on an as needed basis
Operation: those willing to be trained on the basics of setting up and operating the system (training classes will be provided, via Zoom webinars as well as on site to those able to travel)
General Support: those willing to come in person to the deployment site to help with needs as they arise (no special skills or training needed)
