COVID-19 Environment Update:

Soup Kitchen project continues on through COVID times. The community needs our help, now more than ever.

Due to health and safety reasons, the venue is not allowing outside food preparation and serving people. They have their dedicated staff to prepare and hand out food packages to the needy. They are expecting 150+ on Saturday! They need our help...

How to donate: We request members who have signed up and wish to signup to donate cash equivalents of our normal signup menu so that we may combine those funds and provide it to the Soup Kitchen. They will use the funds to prepare and feed the needy on Saturday.

After signing up, please VENMO your signup amount to susdash@gmail.com, our service coordinator. If you need any help, please contact him. He will be issuing one check to the soup kitchen.

General Details About Soup Kitchen Project (In Normal Times)

Soup Kitchen Location: - 4 Merritt Street, Norwalk, CT

When: Normally 4th Saturday every month unless otherwise announced.

Cooking from 11am-12:30pm, Serving in Kitchen and Dining Hall from 12:30pm-2:00pm, All ages 16+ can participate in this Seva project. We need minimum of 4 volunteers for each of the 3 slots (Cooking in kitchen, serving in Kitchen, and serving in dining hall). Please volunteer your time accordingly. Thank you.

All times below must be delivered to the venue by 10:30 am. Soda and Ice Cream may be delivered by Noon.

Details on Items:

Pizza sponsorship is for 30 pies total. Approx cost is $300 and pizza sponsorship can be split into 2 sponsors to share the cost.
Macaroni salad and dressing - 4 lbs Elbows pasta, (108 oz) Mayo; (1) 12 oz Sweet relish, 3-4 red peppers, 1 bag carrots 3 - 16 oz salad dressing - Ranch
- Recipe - 1 Lb Macaroni Pasta, 3-4 cup mayonnaise, 1 tbsp Mustard, 1/2 tbsp Sugar, 1 1/2 tsp Salt, 1 tbsp Garlic Powder, 1 tsp Black Pepper, 3 tbsp Relish, 3-4 tbsp Vinegar, 1-2 Red Peppers chopped into small pieces. Boil pasta until done, and run under cold water and leave it in colander. In a big bowl, first mix all the ingredients. Then add the pasta to it mix it and leave it in the refrigerator for about 30-45 mins.
Green Salad - (Iceberg Lettuce -5, Cucumbers - 5(large), Carrots 2(1lb), Red Raddish 2 (8oz pk), Peppers 4-6 (Green/Colored)
Soup (Winter) - 1- lb small pasta, 1-32 oz Can crushed tomato, 1 bunch celery, 3 cans of small beans
Ice Cream - 5 buckets - 1 Gallon Each (Chocolate / Vanilla / Strawberry combo)
Soda -12 bottles of Coca-Cola - 2 Liters
