Om Sai Ram!
What we so fondly call the Norwalk Sai Group began its existence in the late 1970’s as the Sathya Sai Center of Pound Ridge, New York, in the home of Mimi Goldberg. Since we met in a barn that was not winterized, the Center had its winter quarters in another devotee’s home in the area. It was only when that family had to make a move to another part of the state that the search for a new location commenced. Shanti’s dad, who was a member at Pound Ridge presented this need to the Prasad’s and returned to meeting the next Sunday offering up their home for meetings. That was over 33 years ago …. What a glorious ride it has been!
The Center has been the ‘Mother ship’ to five (5) additional groups:
In the early ‘80’s, Wadhwanis had a vibhuti miracle in their home that lasted for 10 days. During this period, a family member was instructed by Swami, in a dream, to make this home a Center. That was the first ‘baby’ – Shelton Center. When Sisters Eleanor and Denise moved to Honolulu they founded the Honolulu Center. The Silvermine Center in Norwalk, was founded to address the needs of a growing community. Similarly, in January of 2015, the Sai Center of Stamford was formed.
As we continue to grow and expand our devotion to Swami within our neighboring communities by opening more centers, we continue to meet as The Sathya Sai Center of Norwalk at The Prasads home located at 435 Rowayton Ave in Norwalk CT. as always. Everyone is welcome to join our devotional, service, and spiritual education programs.
Welcome to The Sathya Sai Center of Norwalk!
