Sathya Sai Spiritual Education 2023-2024 Plan

Welcome to the Sathya Sai Center of Norwalk's SSSE Landing Page.

Please note: All current announcements (SSSE events, training, etc.) will be posted on the Announcements page on our website, in date-wise order. Please stay connected to Center announcements.

Effective March 3rd, 2024, the Norwalk Center is resuming SSSE classes. Class timings will be from at 11 AM to Noon and will be held upstairs at the center in person. Teacher volunteers and parents are requested to complete the signup sheet. Updates are also communicated via SSSE WhatsApp Group and the currently active text chat threads.

We want our parents and children to have a stellae experience with SSSE at all times and we are always looking for members who can lend a hand in anyway to make such an experience possible. Exciting SSSE Seva Project for All - - SSSE Norwalk Class Schedule & Teacher Signups

All members of the Center are requested to sign up for at least one session to facilitate a class our SSSE students.

Guidelines for Norwalk SSSE & Suggested Topics

To help create more robust learning opportunity for children, we are combining groups 2-4 for the remainder of 2023 school year and asking members who would like to have the opportunity to please take up a class or two with a special topic of choice.

We do not have sufficient children and teachers for individual group classes at this time and we feel this may offer children an even more exciting opportunity to learn in depth about certain topics.

This opportunity is open to all members, young and old and we will engage you to take up special topics and become the "Guru" to the children for a class. No other commitment is required except for the class which you signup to teach. The special topics will make it interesting and learning for all. This is an amazing opportunity for all of us to do this valuable Seva for Swami and for our children. We will get more out of the experience than we can ever imagine giving.

How does it work?

Please review Guidelines for Norwalk SSSE & Suggested Topics and identify a topic to take up to teach a class for SSSE. The time selected by a majority of parents is Sundays between 5-6 PM for an online class via Google Meet. These classes will not be during Center times as few kids have other activities Sunday mornings which prevents some from attending.
Then please signup to facilitate a class on any given Sunday that is available on the Schedule of Classes link and email us at info@saicenter.org or contact the SSSE coordinator with the date and topic you have selected. If you can provide 1-3 topic selections to give us flexibly so we can avoid duplicate topics, that will be great!

We urge everyone who can to take advantage of this opportunity and to help the Center and its children to get the most out of their spiritual journey. The experience will surely contribute to our own journey as well!

How to Post an SSSE Class Summary

To post a SSSE class summary to the website, please prepare an email with notes as follows:

Subject: <Date of SSSE Class, Group Number, and Topic>

Contents: Your email must not have an attachment. If you want to share a PDF, slides, or other content, please link to this content in your email post (you can upload attachments on your own google drive or else where and ensure view permissions are set properly and share). If you need help, just ask the SSSE coordinator and we will be happy to help you.

Class Summary Guidelines: Do‘s and Dont’s

Do’s:

Provide a ‘brief’ synopsis of the class

Share initiatives by students (for example, Group 3 chose to attend the Stamford soup kitchen as a group service activity)

Reiterate ‘life application’ and any assignments for the next week

Review class summary and read it from a ‘parent’s point of view’ (is it informative, interesting, and concise?)

Dont’s:

Don’t use children or teachers names for privacy reasons. The posts will be private but we want to use caution on the internet none-the-less

Don’t post the entire lesson plan on the website

Don’t post teacher’s notes, discourses, etc. that were used to prepare lesson plan
